Oh Thomas
you doubter
no longer a pouter
what is it
that’s in us
that causes
us unbelief?

Is it a
God-placed
sense of query
that makes us
meekly tarry

upon the words,
upon the voice,
before we acquiesce
and make our choice?

Are we,
like Simon Peter,
meant to defer,
till we concur,
upon Your word
that we have heard?

Are we chided
if we’ve abided
upon the faith
of those who saith
“You are the Christ,
the Son of the Living God.”

Echoing about my head
is the blood that You have shed
and my heart that You have fed
by Your sacrifice
in my stead.

Then to know
Your promise, true,
that You draw me unto You
despite the strength
of the nails
and the pain Your flesh
entailed
that I’m forever Yours.

At last
I shall rely
upon the Your
wondrous reply,
when Peter said,
“You are the Christ...”

“Flesh and blood have not revealed this to you,
but my Father who is in heaven.”

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Virginia, this is sooooooo wonderfully heartfelt, sweet friend, I have read of his philosophy and though I don't center my life around it, he truly has heartfelt words he said! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!

Thank you, and yes, you are so right..He is the one that showed me Himself. I am forever grateful for His sacrifice, and His Son's willingness to be obedient to the command on His own life. It's the love of both of them that set us free. I see now people have been through this, and have even written lyrics to tell of their experience.
