Thanks be to God Thanksgiving Day has come again, Our thanks list we prepare. Forgive us for the grief we feel At one more empty chair. You never promised we'd be free Of sorrow and of woe. You pledged only you'd be with us As through the trials we go. At each sad step we took, dear Lord We felt You by our side. We are grateful for your presence In all the times we've cried. And now although we are missing His sweet, endearing smile, We are thankful that you lent him For just that little while. Our hearts are full of thankfulness For all things You have given. And for the one whom we so loved, Who's with you now, in Heaven. By Joyce 11/25/02 |

Oh Joyce... you made me cry!! I will be missing my dear uncle this year, but thank you for this beautiful reminder that he is with Jesus, and what better way could we spend a holiday?! Thank you for posting this. Most of us go to our grave with our music still inside of us. |

I am glad Dear Lovebug that this was touching rather than sad. We lost my granddaughter's dear husband this year. Love, Joyce |

Joyce: Such a heart-felt poem! I always feel at holidays, as I look around the table, that all the missing ones are present, somehow. Betty Lou Hebert |

Joyce, You are one who has the ability to approach death with a tenderness and a loving sentiment that of which I have never read anywhere else. You express such a wonderful appreciation for each one who has passed from your life to be with Him. True, the emotions expressed here are very sad to read, but yet they are at the same time uplifting to my heart and soul to know that those who have passed are so tenderly missed and so uniquely loved. God bless you my friend and may you have a blessed Thanksgiving. -Bob |

Thank you dear friends. Of course Paul you may give a copy to your aunt. I hope it helps a bit. I have so many dear people on the other side that I use my poetry to reach them. Love, Joyce |
