The Ass and Her Colt

Upon my back, the Savior rode
And I was proud to bear the load.
Proud, I was the chosen one
To carry forth God's only Son.
I saw the crowds along the street.
I smelled the dust and felt the heat,
But all I really thought about,
As I walked slowly on the route,
Was how a lowly creature came
To give a ride to One of Fame,
Who asked specifically for me.
Gave me a place in history.

My colt and I were part of all
That on that fateful day did fall,
When Jesus cleaned God's temple of
The sellers of both goods and dove.
We saw the blind and lame be healed.
He took a stand and wouldn't yield,
Saying only prayers should dwell
Within the temple, "Mark Me Well!"
And when it all was said and done,
We'd had our moment, with the Son!

Joyce:  I am always struck in reading the Bible, at the care Jesus showed to all things, animal and human!  Glad you liked this.

When I read this I just wanted to hug you. This is very dear. Lovely, lovely words about our Lord, and His choice of a creature that is one that's picked to be used for ridicule sometimes. Very nice!!!
Love,
Terri~

Terri:  All hugs gratefully accepted!! I often think of the animals living in the time of Jesus and how he must have had a special compassion for them, as well as humans.
