Hi, I hope that you don't mind me posting this here. It may not seem spiritual, but it is about my church, and as you can tell, it's gone. I didn't really go for quality on this one, I just typed...here's what came out. It's from the bottom of my heart. I’ve said goodbye But really, you aren’t gone You are still where You always were Tall, strong, beautiful Walking past, I want to say hi But slowly I remember you’re gone You aren’t mine any more And never again shall you be I can still remember Everything The times we had together The times I hid and cried Jumped for joy Found my home At first How we co-existed I looked at you But I never really saw I listened to you But I never really heard I believed Or at least that’s what I thought But I had no idea My eyes were opened I learned of your compassion Your peace, your hope And I fell in love The relationship grew so deep I took risks I trusted in you Assumed you’d always be there Took you as my home Before I knew what was happening You left It’s my fault In a way Doesn’t really matter how Or why Now I am empty Alone Trapped Stuck in the present- Staring at a bleak future I’ve said goodbye But really, you aren’t gone You are still where You always were Tall, strong, beautiful You dropped a spark It lit a fire in my heart And forever it shall burn For really, you are in me When I see you In your emptiness You are not you Little bits of you have spread Around the world Through the lives you touched And mine was but one To you, I was only one In a sea of many To me, you were the one And the only one there shall be Forevermore Thank you and Goodbye |

I sincerely hope that your separation from your church was on good terms, and perhaps you are going to another? The fellowship offered is always there, and no one has to feel they are alone, especially when you consider who the host is I wish you peace. Carpe' Diem |

I know what you mean by taking them to belong. God is always there by your side. Even when humans disappoint, and fall short He's there. Love, Terri~ Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |

TheBackofTheMill: I don't know if your church is physically gone, as in burned down, or razed, etc. but it's clear that the essence of it lives on in you! You hopefully, will find another church to continue your fellowship in. Congratulations on this first post and happy to have you here. Watch your e-mail for a special message and welcome to Passions! Best wishes Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

I know there is a story here that is unfinished. However it is very thoughtfully and well written as if inspired. Good luck to you. And welcome to our corner and I hope we see you again soon. Love, Joyce [This message has been edited by Joyce Johnson (10-01-2003 01:48 PM).] |

(big hugggsssssss) I too am uncertain if your church was razed or you left the church for personal reasons, but know deep down either way that this story has only begun and deep in a new church that matches your beliefs you will again join His great grace! God Bless You, sweet friend, this is a most heartfelt debut, I love it! Welcome to Passions, sweet friend, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your spiritual poetry, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth |

I walked away from the church over 14 years ago.... and I sooo long to become part of something like that again... I know God, he is with me and never left me. I also know that as a body of believers we are all a part of His Church, His Bride, but alas, the fellowship is something that I long for once more, and to give my son the opportunity to learn about a loving saviour that I have too long ignored. Your poem cut me to the quick. It shone a light on a very charred piece of my heart. I hope you find your fellowship and that sense of belonging again.... I pray for both of us. Thank you. Sherry |

Welcome to Passions. This sounds like a song of love and even though I do not know the reason of this good-bye, I feel that what really counts is within you, the One Living God ... and I am sure He will guide you on your spiritual path. Love, Margherita |

Sorry about this- I just got back from a mission trip! I apologize for my vagueness...yes, my church still physically exists but closed due to lack of membership, quite quickly might I add. Thanks for the words of encouragement! |

Sorry about your church closing, but you certainly made something very nice out of it. This piece you've shared with us says a lot about your heart. I'll be looking forward to reading more of your posts. Rae |

I completely understand your poem and your feelings. I had to leave a church for reasons I won't get into. But I can totally relate to your poem. I hope you are able to heal and find a new home where you feel just at home as you once did where you no longer go. God bless you on your journey. Sheri Jesus lives in my heart! He can in yours too!!! |
