He calls to me in haunting words Revealed in rhythmic poetry And in the stars so late at night Placed on display for me to see He calls to me in open skies Where clouds are laced in fields of blue And from the depths of misty dreams He speaks to me in words so true He calls to me in sunset’s hour As weary day succumbs to night And in the early morning hour I hear Him with the dawns first light He calls to me in autumn’s foliage Donned in hues of brown and red And every word my ears hear spoken Reminds me of the things He’s said He calls to me in distant thunder When rain drops fall to quench the earth And in the wail of newborn babies Crying shortly after birth He calls to me in oceans waves Crashing gently on the shore And in the quest of hidden secrets Locked behind each waiting door He calls to me in precious hymns Sung by choirs everywhere And even now I hear His voice Reminding me He’s always there He calls to me in quiet whispers Here in the church, I see his face He speaks to me, Do you hear Him calling? Ruth... you are so right. The Lord calls to us from everything in His creation. This earth, His word, and His sacrifice are all testiments to how much He loves us. Your verse is also a reflection of His power... thank you for sharing. Most of us go to our grave with our music still inside of us. |
