Wrote this in 1996 for my best man and maid of honor on their wedding day. A little rusty but still gets the message across . . . ----------------------------------------------- I had a dream, a vision A story, O' so bold My mind it keeps repeating this tale of love untold So brave I heard A mighty waterfall turquoise, hazel heaven My thoughts they do recall The Sun, shining like the facet of a stone The reflection in the water revealed that I was not alone I gazed, in awe my sight does not tell lies A single solemn rose appeared before my eyes Defiant, she stood her face turned towards the sky The Sun was beating madly into the stream nearby the ravine She had claimed it as her own Where sunlight seldom shines and water rarely roams it did, I swear I saw it in this dream From the corner of my eye somehow, from the stream it came slowly, it did fall beckoning to fate to the call the call of destiny On a summers' day The stream had found a way to seek and take his toll Through the ravine to what claimed his soul The rose the water came so fast She waited for his kiss, at last The Sun smiled brightly through the trees for they all knew They understood for what had happened so fast Began something that will always last And a rainbow then streaked the sky And I swear I tried not to cry Yet, a tear fell from my face I have witnessed perpetual grace in this dream that I had one night and the vision set my soul aflight To be a part of something sent from above and to testify to eternal love ----------------------------------------- [This message has been edited by littlewing (08-27-2003 04:01 AM).] |

Sue, There should be no "rusty" disclaimer to this very kind and gentle poem. It is a very nice write. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Agree with Larry, hardly rusty when it is filled with so much tenderness, and good to see it in this forum to get read, it's lovely Sue. |

I loved the way this seemed to have like a birds eye view ...a panaramic vision. Nice to read that feeling of gentleness, and endearing thoughts. SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |

littlewing...I couldn't find a speck of rust on any of these words. They must be preserved in your tender heart. Enjoyed...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |
