Avenue of Horror I take my way on avenue of horror through my mind to view and wonder where restorance sit and if yet there is one last wit. The floor swims with pools putrid, splayed ornaments seething molten made , delapitated monuments, fallen a-gore the remanents only faintly suggesting what yore they were figured and reared up for. Leaves waft, my poetries done down with scrolls flutter, half brent and brown. I catch one's flight, and see letters that spell out my first essayed verse. Why did I not stay in that sense and earnest, and that innocence? Those words of greeneness, each a tear of heaven now construe right clear: I was a poet the first day and then fell down my song away. I was a scholar my first light then made a vanishing, insight. With "I" seld did I write, it seems I threaded in other peoples dreams. Such is my lot ever nether Why did I palter with feather poetic and attempt to sway with this, a noble wording way? And why pedantic things enjoy and try ancient shapes to employ? "All or nothing" sought too much and now all feels sore, now nothing grand. So have I cursed eyes on this tread and court to catch love or be dead. In what cell shall I lay in bed on what thing tender lay my head and find yet some symbol sacred when my days thus, I only see I need the love of a lady. The most important thing that man should sue with life's faith is woman and seek her truth, and seek her light her love deserve and love her right. That quest is gold, a thousand fold better than thoughts and vers controlled. Write eloquence on that life's page loving a lady all thy age. That will fullfill, not toils of rhyme or vain abstractions of sublime. [This message has been edited by Essorant (08-03-2003 02:45 AM).] |

Why did I palter with feather poetic and attempt to sway with this, a noble wording way? And why pedantic things enjoy and try ancient shapes to employ? "All or nothing" sought too much and now all feels sore, now nothing grand. Now there is a lot of wisdom in this poem and I have printed it to read it more thoroughly and enjoy each layer. I enjoyed the mental journey you took me on with this, and saved it, thank you. I don't want to know where I am going, it will ruin my journey. |

(sigh) I agree with you so very much, dearest friend, women are those who tame man's spirit and soul and temper them with the ability to love through gentleness and kindness! (big hugggssssss) If we can love with the women, the world can be a much better place! (smiles) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Essorant, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton I don't need no proof when it comes to God and truth |
