If I have learned nothing else During the years I have spent on earth I have learned love endures It covers a multitude of sins It even revives itself After overwhelming pain Love learns that to err is human That forgiveness comes from God It is the nature of caring It is the nature of understanding It is the knowledge that I need Forgiveness too Love keeps teaching me That loving in the face of hate Is a not a duty but Is a favor I do for myself As I stand absorbing the rays Of God's love Mirroring the warmth Onto those who stand in the shade Self-absorbed [This message has been edited by Songbird (11-13-2002 02:25 AM).] |

Songbird, So much wisdom here.... I suppose if we were given but one thing on the face of the Earth of which we might be required to learn before entering our haven of rest that that one thing would need to be love. I think your poem correlates very well with how Christ would overcome hate in His life. I am always challenged as a Christian here to be more like Christ and I do believe that He gave us the prime example of love when he gave his life for us while we were yet living in sin. Again, very well expressed feelings here. Enjoyed reading very much. -Bob |

Great! I wish know more about love, as always, never seems to learn enough of it, just as of longing for it. Eliza Simmons |
