A Stranger Among Us

We feel his presence deep within our hearts
He touches us forever we are told
Love and kindness shared with us as life starts
A stranger to our eyes, but not our soul

Stranger to many salvation to all
Searching each day for the answers we need
When our spirits are low to him we call
Heavenly father hear my prayer we plead

We wonder what the future might hold
How will we prepare for that which will be
We must look back to the past I am told
For answers as yesterday fades away

Past all the rainbows and stars in the sky
High on the mountain we reach for his hand
A stranger greets us…and we know not why
He says quietly… come… view my master plan

Come see that which was… and that yet to be
Feel the love shared between father and son
Know the true meaning of your life through me
As we journey…see life not yet begun

Sunrise emerges from darkness of night
Looking at my footprints made in the dew
Within my heart there burns a constant light
Counting the sets of footprints there are two

God gives so much and ask so little of us
There are always choices for us too make
Never turn away from his love and trust
He walks with us in every step we take

Hi Paul, seems like ages since I've seen you and read your beautiful poetry. You have been missed.

This is an outstanding piece and I've read it several times. So many wonderful lines and stanza's.

Stranger to many salvation to all

Marti~~~ Thank you so much for your warm touching reply. It has been awhile and I am really glad to be back and be able to read the words of wonderful people like yourself.
I'm so glad you enjoyed this and again thanks for everything. I hope that I can visit PIP more often in the future.

(big hugggssssssss) And it truly is heartbreaking to see though He asks little from us, many still deny Him and take Love's meaning the wrong way! (sad sigh) He truly was a stranger, but He's everyone's friend and may we all become acquainted with His grace, God Bless You, your heart is most loving, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Paul, thank you for sharing!

~ and at times there are only one set of footprints to be seen ~ when we are being carried in the arms of God during troubled times...
