Only Through God When sorrow crawls into my heart And saturates my soul, No power of mine can loosen it. My will can't make me whole. Without my God to shelter me, To add His strength to mine, I'd have no way to puzzle through The tangle disentwine. When my road takes so many turns That I have lost direction, It is then I remind myself I'm under God's protection. It matters not the happenstance The problems that assail, I need not face them on my own, My God's there without fail. Why would one travel through this life Without the help he's given? Dear Joyce, I know I have been away for awhile. I am going through some battles here, one of them is learning to "let God". I have always enjoyed your work, and this one is no exception. It only makes sense to lean on our faith, but our human nature always tends to lead us into distrust. I really needed your poem this morning and I thank you so much.
