Freedom in Insignificance Finally, I am free. Unchained from tribulation, Unscathed from assumption, I am reborn from death. Peace, be the breath That echoes cleared vision. Contrasting ignorance consumption, I am no longer in need. It may seem, easier To take the path taken, Meld a mold made Laid jaded with hatred. But maybe the right choice lies In denial's eyes. Perception cleared is not divine. Rather, it mocks decision, As ignorance for intelligence Falters against precision. If only, there was a way. If it's nothing to bet, why try? Maybe because; we are free. I feel, bliss glaring at me. Tempting me, closing my eyes. Drifting me to sleep, the Atlas of tranquility. But I have seen, Clarity grows from discovery. I now know the truth. There is no God. |

A powerful poem that needs to be read more than once to find it's magic. |

Although I can't agree with it's ending I think this Poem has a lot to say. There's definitely been too much Hatred and Violence in the name of Religion and God. "Peace, be the breath That echoes cleared vision". That really says it all. Thanks for sharing this. Good Will Always, Mystic Dreamer |

thanks for the comments everyone. This was actually my first poem since I was a toddler, (i'm only 16, mind you) and it is about how my belief gives me true freedom; for good or for bad faith is subbordination. Many find true faith a sweet surrender, but still a surrender it is. i have written many poems since this, and I love sharing and critiquing on this site! i appreciate these forums. (sigh) Though I disagree with your views, dearest friend, I respect your honesty and your opinions and thoughts and I truly believe while there is a God that hopes all things that truly knowledge is overrated and believing is simply the answer! (big hugggssssss) This is wonderful writing, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet David, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton Underneath your clothes, there's an endless story |

davidmerriman: While I do not agree with the ending of your poem, I think you did a good job of writing! Betty Lou Hebert |

Freedom is pure, negating all which our Earthly existence can muster. Everything is something and nothingness exists. Our own feelings are a part of all this until the day we can account for it. True judgement is ours, the freedom that we hold. Your very interesting. I'm anxious to read more of your work. mysticpoe |
