Redeemed My country right or wrong, I cried With patriotic zeal, And now with victory nearing I kneel with this appeal. If this released country is to be A free and happy land, May you guide one into power Who loves his fellowman. May all the foes be routed Who'd keep citizens enslaved, And our own government and armies Idealistically behaved. As Abou Ben Adam once was blessed For the love of man he'd shown, May populace of Iraq find Such great men of their own. With peace and good restored we can Bring all our loved ones back, Their only purpose to protect Our own land from attack. Hi Joyce, the more I read your poetry. The more I see your extreme sense of fairness for all. You are the peacemaker and hope is a part of your mission. God knows our hearts and the redeemed are blessed. God be with all of us. Enjoyed your poem very much!! mysticpoe |

So good! Sure hits home doesn't it? Glad I'm not the only one who writes about wars going on. Well written and very well expressed. Jesus lives in my heart! |

![]() (big hugggsssssss) I think the first step in this process is to first redeem ourselves and end the destruction of justice among those who truly exhibit love for this country, like the Dixie Chicks, Tim Robbins and many others who love this land but don't support war, then from there we get back to the fundamentals of equality and freedom and share them with all our neighbors! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing! ![]() May love and light always shine upon you! Joyce, I rejoice with the people of Iraq for their new found freedom. When the statue came down, like so many others, I cried. However, I think the looting and other bad behaviors has to stop. Hugs for Peace. Marti |

Yes, may the Iraqi people find as you have stated freedom, happiness, and a leader of integrity. I do think that your humble appeal here is very very honorable and would serve as a most ethical guideline for the new and "redeemed" Iraq. God bless. -Bob |
