I pray unto thee all the live long day.
And if alone I must be I am alone.

If my work were finished I know I would be gone
to dance up the stairs to my home.

I walk with no one and speak to myself
and try to finish the song.

And if I am a prisoner of love for now
I kneel to thee all the day long.

I've walked through the forest all of my life.
Beneath the towering trees.

Willows who wept were the friends who I
kept. No, not the friends I could please.

In a dream I am a bird and wish I might
wing, my way to freedom and rest.

But I am a man and the ground is my land
and wishes are the cloth for my vest.

I pray unto thee all the live long day and
if I can do nothing more.

I will make it my work to finish my
prayer and leave the ground as before.

Your poem brings to my mind that in the much larger scope of things that truly man's life is but merely a vapor. Very nice writing here.
