A Little Sleep (Proverbs 24:31&32) Commit yourself to God each day, Lest you risk falling away. “A little sleep, a little slumber,” over time tends to encumber A soul with sloth and gluttony – Sins to which you’re no longer free. Robbing you of the joys in life, Replacing them with grief and strife. “A little folding of the hand to rest.” A little sin lying unconfessed, And “poverty” sneaks upon the soul, A thief robbing you of your goal… That seems to toy with you and taunt, Filling your thought with envy and “want.” Like “armed men” you can’t turn away, Eyes closed, sleeping the day away. Yes, our neglect and sin tend to swallow us up. Wisely, you've reminded us to commit ourselves to the Lord each day. Your poetry is always a pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing it. God bless. Rae |

Words of the heart, to live by. Beautiful thoughts to start the day. Sometimes it seems, we sleep right through the best parts. God Bless. Karl |

“A little folding of the hand to rest.” A little sin lying unconfessed, You have incorporated God's word into such a wonderfully wise and beautiful verse. We need to commit ourselves each day so we don't slumber through the day... and then turn our failings over to him so we can rest through the night. *S* |

Michael, I am in awe of the way you see things now and I am hunble in your shadows. You continue to create, so I have to believe He is not done with you, nor will He ever be. You make a wonderful mold of what can be, y'know? |

Rae, thank you, and God bless you too. Karl, nice to meet you. A lot of us sleep all through the day… while working, driving, eating… etc. Indeed, starting the day reflecting on God makes it much easier to include him all throughout it. Ruth, Yes, we definitely need to leave our failing with Him. Sleep is a good thing, when taken in moderation. K, I believe there is substantial work left in me for Him… lol. Thank you so much for the kind words, even so. Michael |
