Perfect They say I have a strong heart, But it feels weak in my chest. I really don’t know where to start, But to say that I’ve been blessed. I tried to take my own life, As it says in the report. Condemned by the words of my wife, I thought it my last resort. But the Lord stepped in and saved me, Mercy and grace unreserved… …From the sin that so enslaved me, And the hell that I deserved. …From the strongholds of addiction That plagued my every thought. …From the burdens and affliction That upon myself I’d wrought. He gave me the strength to endure, And through faith taught me to cope… …That I might be presented as pure Unto the God of all hope. …That I might resist temptation To fall back to fleshly ways, And proclaim His resurrection The remainder of my days. He lives in me, and I in Him, His strength perfected in weakness… …That my eyes, once grieved and dim, Might come to shine in meekness. …That some might see a different me – Give the glory to God above. All fear absolved, eternally Living in His perfect love. |

Twice, I read these words you have so reverently written..not because I didn't understand, but because I wanted to bask in the glory you've reflected. This is a keeper and you are, indeed, one after God's heart...His precious child...a reliable, believable witness to His power. It's easy to see why He saved you and I'm so glad He did. We are as HE sees us, not as we'd like to see ourselves or as others see us. Thank you for sharing here, Rae |

That is a wonderful and humble, but powerful testimony, that is truly written through The Spirit of God, Who very obviously, now lives within you to stay. Michael, you’re a shining testimony to our God’s Great Power and Might, May our Lord continue using your humble words of testimony in a powerful way to touch others. Rae, thank you so much for the uplifting words. We are truly as He sees us... each and all. If only we would spend as much time looking upon Him as He does us, how different we all might see ourselves. I've read this several times... and each time I've read it, I've ended up in tears. They're a mixed bag... tears of sadness for your suffering... tears of gladness that you are here and living in His perfect love. The poem is beautiful... the testimony is even more so. |

I too have also re-read your poem a few times, it has touched me deeply because most of your words echo my experience. I too tried to do the same and by the grace of God he gave me a second chance at life and He showed me to truth and I got saved. A lot of people arent aware of this, but I am sharing it with you now because this poem echoes my own life in many ways.
