He slipped away so quietly
We didn't see him go.
Why God needed him in Heaven,
Is something we can't know.

He left a host of words behind,
To bless us from now on.
He signed them with the name Deleeme,
But it's David White who's gone.

He was heartily welcomed, this we know,
When he came to Heaven's gate.
He loved the Lord with all his heart,
God wouldn't make him wait.

I'm sure the doors were opened wide
For him, a favorite son,
And now in Heaven he abides.
His work on Earth is done.

We'll miss you dear David.

Love, Joyce

Your tribute is perfect, Joyce.  I'll say "Amen" to that, and forward this link to dear Jane, David's widow.

Joyce, this fits David perfectly...
and as for the why? I don't know, either,
for he was far too young...

but I do know we will all miss him.

Wow... I'm lucky to have read this... It reminds me of my Great Aunt Orafae who died a few years ago at the age of 92... I didn't get to know her that well, but I did get to meet her which was cool though she didn't like my long hair too much... lol...

Does she pray, or am I prey?

Dear Joyce,
Thank you so much for this lovely memorial and tribute to my dear brother.  David in his humble amd selfless ways touched lives where ever he went, his poems reflect a tender heart influenced by the love of Jesus that he knew and let guide his life.

We are saddend by our loss but are confident that it is his gain, going home to be in the presence of God.

Thanks again for your kindness.

A heartfelt tribute, and such a beautiful way to remember... I love the quiet in this.

I have this habit when I am busy, of thinking all of you will still be here when I can find the time to come back to visit.
This isn't necessarily true as David's sudden departure proves.  He was on my Christmas card list and I sent him my card and received a letter back from Jane that he is gone.  I am so sorry Dennis and all those who loved him.  We had followed him in some of his sorrows and were aware that his road had been rocky at times but his faith never faltered as evidenced by his poetry. I am so sorry for those he left behind.  Love, Joyce
