Soft Whispers Soft whispers sweep the arid fields Of wheat grown white for harvest’s yield Free-flowing in the warmth of June That tempts the wind to drift in tune With children’s laughter raised in dreams Hopscotching over roads and streams Intrigued by spirits who rejoice Surrendered hearts in soft still voice Pressing gently to the ear Enticing all who will to hear Robins, finches, wrens and jays Sharing joys this summer's day. God bless, Lighthouse Bob > [This message has been edited by Lighthousebob (05-13-2010 02:55 AM).] |

Dear Bob, this is so touchingly beautiful, that I need to fight back the tears. I hear the tune and I feel it deeply. Thank you for this precious gift. A perfect acrostic btw.! Love, Margherita |

whisperingwalt, Thank you so much for your compliment and, also, so you know, much of what was written in this poem came from thoughts inspired by your pen name. -Bob |

I thought you were looking in our back yard as you wrote this one, Bob. Outside our dining window we have all the birds you named, plus squirrels and rabbits. Ah nature at it's best! Your work is flawless and I enjoyed each and every word of it. God bless, Rae |

Being from Manitoba in Canada, where wheat is "our thing" this sure touched my heart. You are indeed a wonderful painter of words. |

Thank you for the Big Smile, Angel4aKing, and, also, although my response is way, way, way overdue, I’m sure, and I’m very very sorry for being soooooo late, anyways, Thank You, Weeping willow and Mysteria, for your very kind and inspirational words and I’m glad that my poem inspired some warm thoughts for both of you. Love and God bless, -Bob |
