Stepping from the pooling mists of wisdom into the Garden of my Heart I miss you son so much it’s hurting This place is not the same since we’ve been apart My son, my son what were you thinking? Didn’t Eden teach you a thing? And tell me why are you hiding naked, Tryin to fade…fade into the trees? Did you think I wouldn’t follow? Did you think I wouldn’t see? Didn’t I say from the beginning That I would never leave? Come back to me Come back to me I can turn your shadows with a smile Come back to me I’ll be walking in the Garden Come back to me Son please, wont you come home? Father, my heart cries out in anguish Wondering why I left you, wondering where I am And I cant tell you why I’m running Through this darkness fast as I can Seems I’m having some trouble believing And it’s keeping me wandering in the night Oh Father, I’m too afraid to face you But this distance between us isn’t right Been walking through this desert Pretending to be strong Don’t know why I kept on running But I’ve been running way too long Come back to me Come back to me Only You can mend my broken heart Come back to me I hear you walking in the Garden Come back to me Father please, can I come home? |
