The empty touch of cold desire
Spreading from the rabid dark
Quenching all my moral fire
Hidden demons now lie stark

The light of angels flees my soul
Set loose by hungers that bind
Dark moments, an eternal toll;
My faith’s not lost - still hard to find

The hand of Christ, recoils in pain
Anguish mirrored on his face
Red scars still raw, now nailed again
When I enter sin’s embrace

Yet though I still heed to hells lies
Pure Grace shines through the night
Love resonates in shining eyes
And I return to heavens fight

The horrors of pain and beauty of grace evoked in this piece portray our inward sinfulness and God's love so very well.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

God bless,
Rae

A lovely piece; reminds of the Scripture's verse that "all have sinned"; thankfully His forgiveness is available when we cry out to Him. --Joe

Logic, when applied to people, fails miserably! --Joseph J. Breunig 3rd
