Tip-Tap Shoes and Princess Dress

She became a harlot who’d forgotten of her worth
as struggles overcame her life upon this dreaded earth.
She made her daily living entertaining near the bar
where men both came to be with her and love her from afar.

Now, one who came to visit thought her different from the rest
for he beheld the little girl who lived there and confessed
the house was a disaster with a stench so hard to bear
that he believed it obvious that no one there did care.

And, then, within that dirty house, that grimy face, so drear,
touched the man that he should plan to make the dismal clear
for someone else, for one in need of nurturing that day
when, pulled out from the refuse, one’s repression slipped away.

He, smitten with compassion, said, "I’m taking her with me!"
then, hand in hand, the child and man went on a shopping spree.
He found a place to wash her face and asked what she’d like best
and, so, she said, quite softly, "Tip-tap shoes and princess dress."

Then, through the aisles they scavenged and, oh, what clothes they sprawled
from shelf to floor, from store to store, from store to shopping mall
and, when it all was finished, yes, when it all was done,
a Father found his princess and a new life was begun.

Now, you may ask yourself, "Does this poem relate to me?"
Well, you’re the child, harlot the world, God's come to set you free!

God bless you,
Lighthouse Bob

I love it! Our heavenly Father is so gentle, forgiving and giving because He is love.

Good to see a post from you, Bob.

Thank you Rae, Joyce, and Marge for your kind and thoughtful Welcome Back's. They were ALL most appreciated. Just thought I'd stop in a bit to say 'Hello' and to let you all know that I'm still alive and kicking (smiles). It was real nice to hear from you and, again, many thanks, and God bless,

-Bob

Thank you Melton and, yes, it was the end message expressed here that touched me also as I was taking time to reflect upon some of my life experiences. Thanks again and God bless,
