Simple Things High up in the Mountain there's a place I know, a space I go, to seek refuge from the chaos of the world below. High in the Mountain the air is clean and clear, crisp and cool, where my thoughts become untangled and I can see forever. The simple things bring joy. Having enough, a bite to eat, a place to sleep, a fiddle tune that sounds so sweet my heart beats perfect time with each note that resonates from a pass of the bow and I know, I am at peace with myself and my Maker. Clothed in humility, a smile I can't hold back comes to my face and I know each and every little one holds a special place in God's eyes, each one blessed with a light deep inside to help them if they seek the way of God's Holy Mountain, where the crystal clear fountain flows, to refresh the Tree of Life. The stillness holds me now, the beginning and the end of what the fiddler plays, the song in between so pure it makes me cry; You can make it if you try, the voice softly sings while the fiddler plays on high; Come and see and I saw, God loves us One in all. Joe Crow I wrote that awhile back and it still makes me smile to read it again. I lost it for a minute or two and a good friend sent it back to me and I Thank him for that! I like the thoughts that come with the 'Mountain', even Moses wrote about that. Sinai, he called it. Joseph Campbell said once that all religions are true if you understand the metaphors it's just when they get confused with fact people start to have trouble. Seems to me the world is filled with trouble. I think it could be some people want to change the world when in the end it is the way we see things that will change, when Man wakes from his slumber so to speak. And so it is that one Man walks across the field of space and time having become cast out, seperated from his Maker and his Woman too who walks in exile along but not next to him. Sorry, that may be too much to think about at one time. Better for the moment to stick with Simple Things and all that it encompasses..... "May the things I know be limited only by my imagination" |

I enjoyed your thoughts in "Simple Things" Each one of lus should have a high place to go when in need of thought cleansing. Joyce |

I agree our lives get far too complicated as we race from one thing to another. This has a wonderful message, I enjoyed. It reminds me of "Little Things," one I posted here long ago. Rae |
