It was cold outside dawn barely breaking, and I breathed in the cool air. Pondering where you were, knowing that I missed you deeply. So many of your traits are left in me, and more and more I look like you. The picture I have reminds me of this, and puts a small smile on my face. Yet where are you in the vast open of this existence, I only wish I could talk to you. I realize that there is a rose growing in my yard, one I did not plant. A touch from heaven, you are still here with me. My burdened heart feels peace...... |

RoseOfWinter~ On reading your piece this morning, I found myself being reminded of something I had written 6 or 7 years ago ... Just found it and wanted to share it with you~ ------------------------------------------- Petals Beyond The Window ~*Marge Tindal*~ Beyond the window, with shades drawn there came a fragrance on the dawn Sweet recall of rose in bloom sweeping fragrance of perfume across my morn of mourning One short year you've been gone left to soon - gone too long I feel your spirit - see a trace of sunlight that seems out of place Beckoning me to windowed pain slats in open once again There caressing the window pane soft pink petals of memories blossoming just as you promised~ Graphic by Dan Heller ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

Dear Marge, Thank you for sharing this piece it is beautiful and one I can relate too. Lose of one is sometimes years in the mending, and sometimes never. It is nice to be able to express it in writing and know that someone else can understand where you are or have been. Rose of Winter |

Rose, welcome to PIP! Enjoyed the poem. It's like that....that when we least expect it, small miracles seem to pop up reminding us we are really not that far away and that everything is connected......jo |

Oh, how I relate to this poignant, tender poem. It reminds me of how I feel about my father, who died in 2002. I like your name, too. Thanks for sharing. The spiritual wind that holds survivors aloft, plants the seeds from which bloom new hope ... R.J.G. |

What an entrance you've made! Welcome, welcome! These reminders of loved ones no longer with us can be quite comforting although renewing the pain of their absence. You've written it so very nicely. Rae |

Rose: A lovely, and touching poem! I suppose there are very few of us who have not experienced a painful loss. Not all of us can express our feelings as you have though. I will look forward to reading more of your work, Hope you enjoy your time here. Best wishes Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Thank you all for your kind words. My mother passed in 98, after being ill for 3 weeks. She was my best friend in the whole world and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss her, life has not been the same since. I write for her because it helps me heal. With Love Rose of Winter |
