(Another lazy but hasty write at the office, while the boss is not looking).. This is dedicated to those who toil faithfully in the Lord's vineyards, as all of you "spiritual poets" here who take time to write meaningful words to lift the spirit.. I Come sit at My table. I have laid out for you a special place, a tray laden with food and wine overflowing. You have toiled far into the night. You planted My seed in all kinds of seasons. You worked the fields faithfully. Gather now your harvest and fill your barns, partake of the fruits of your labor. You have earned your reward. II I was a child wandering and lost, you took Me home. I was a beggar and you gave Me food. I was in pain and you healed Me. You smiled at Me in my lonely hours, When life was dark and hopeless you brought Me light and strength. Your helping hand reached out to hold Me. If you ask Me, when was I all these, Or how you found Me a child or a beggar a soul despairing and weak. Look around you and you will see Me. I am your neighbor. "Whatever you do to the least of them You do to Me." So come now and sit at My table. You shall dwell in My house forever. |

For a hasty bit of writing you sure did a good job! To sit at his table can indeed fill our needs. Deb |

No surprises here... . . . . . . . . ...I always knew from the first time when I read your poems in "Holiday Cheer" that you were a natural for this forum... and this poem proves it!!! Of course you reference the passage of scripture which is about on the Day of Judgment when the KING separates the sheep from the goats... I guess it's like what you wrote... We do need to be sort of kind to one another rather than always butting heads. As usual, I enjoyed your poem and GOD bless. -Bob |

Thanks all. And so hopefully we will partake of the feast the Lord sets on His table, on the Day of Judgement (as Bob points out), because we tried our best to love our neightbor while here on earth toiling in His fields. |
