To Every Soul The Lord shines down in every place On every soul of every race For everyone a price was paid For every man of every shade To all He gives His beauteous love In equal measure from above In every precinct, every state To those who love, to those who hate No matter what the circumstance He still allows another chance To those who shun Him from their space He offers love, He offers grace He does not set a man apart By the condition of the heart But rather weighs the place inside That would allow Him to abide Prejudgment calls, He does not make No time or patience is at stake No soul too soiled, no heart to weak No place inside too cold or bleak He offers love, he offers truth To men of age and babes of youth He deems each man of equal worth Who breathes a breath and treads the earth To hearts that do not heed His call He’s there to catch them when they fall Prepared to hold in His embrace Each falling tear on every face Elizabeth Santos |
