God of All I recall, when they were smaller, Sometimes my children fought a lot. They never came to blows, but still, They said some things they hadn't ought. I couldn't bear the angry words; It broke my mother heart in two. I had tried to teach them kindness And love for one another too. They soon outgrew their childish ways And have become the best of friends; But I remember how it hurt When neither one would make amends. Now I'm thinking of the Father, Who loves each one of us from birth; How it must be so heart rending, The way we're acting here on Earth. We not only scorn each other With many hateful, scorching words; We profess to claim his blessing As each of us for battle girds. As in the past I could not favor One child over the other one; God's big heart is simply breaking At the horrific things we've done. As we call on Him, remember He loves us all the very same. That we can't outgrow our hatred, Should make us bow our heads in shame. By:Joyce 02/08/03 |

(big hugggsssssssss) Yes, we should all be ashamed for our mockery of His loves understanding when all you must do is give and love unconditionally and turn the other cheek if one may wish not to rather than resort to violence! (sad sigh) I pray for this clarification to come someday, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..." |

This is beautiful Joyce,It reminded me of my own children. It was through my children that I came back to God,and it is heart breaking when they forget they love each other.I always love a poem that makes me look inside,as this one did.Thank you. |

In the shadows of war, I can't help but recognize a very somber similarity between what you have written here about loving your children and how GOD loves us and all the individual nations of the world. Like you have expressed here, I do believe that wars (the horrific things done) are a result of hatred and never fought in the name of Love. How anyone could murder innocent people just because they differ is some way or some belief boggles my mind. (911) There needs to be at least a common code of morality among all humankind (nations), I think, that we shall not kill. (Amen) Anyway, your poem inspires many thoughts and I too wonder at times like these what God must be thinking. GOD bless. -Bob [This message has been edited by Lighthousebob (02-13-2003 05:19 PM).] |

Joyce, I love your focus on the pitiful nature of man and how God still loves us. We are but human, but sometimes I wish I wasn't; someday we won't be.. Thank God for that! Your work is very beautiful. My wife and I are planning on starting our extended family next year so I can't really relate to having children yet, but I know when I do they will bring me a whole new insight into life and human emotion. God Bless you for your work. Thanks - Tim |

I'm sure God shakes his mighty head in sadness. The thought of it, makes me realize what a merciful God he is. You did a wonderful job at bringing out all those things in your poem. Deb [This message has been edited by BloomingRose (02-20-2003 07:33 AM).] |
