I accepted you, Lord, as a child, But then did nothing for quite a while. Life went on as years passed by, I used a lack of time as alibi. Long work-hours became my crutch, I held you at bay inasmuch I was afraid of what I knew inside, so I avoided you and tried to hide. But one day, Lord, you said, "No more!" You pulled out my crutch, I fell to the floor. I lost my job and my favorite excuse, Devastated and lost, I turned to you. So I went to church with open ears, and your loved flowed through my atmosphere. And to surface came what I always knew, that I needed to learn to live for you. Thank you Lord, for loving me enough to open my eyes to see. If you'd have not forced embrace, I fear I'd live life without your grace. Now from this world when I do part, I will do so with Christ in my heart. May no one remember my story, but rather, will my life call out Your Glory! © Steve Nelson In the sight of Love, fear isn't even as great as a single hair: in the law of Love, everything is offered as a sacrifice |

Steve, True, none may remember, but still, to me there really is no better Witness (that's what He's called us to be) than what you've expressed here in this poem and that is your "personal" testimony of what God did for you. This was a Beautiful poem and, even more, this was a Beautiful Beautiful testimony and I thank you (Thank You) for sharing it here with us. God bless, -Bob |

Your lines flow as beautifully as God's loving grace. This is truely a powerful testimony, wordwise, and I'm sure even more powerful in your walk with the Lord. Thank you for sharing this. Rae |

Thank you Steve for favoring us with your poetry. We all need the reminder to make God the first in our lives and not at our convenience. Love, Joyce |
