His Presence The mocking bird’s trill is the word of God The gentle breeze, His sigh His face is mirrored in a pond and in a twilight sky God’s heart beats in the ocean tides and in a sparrow’s breast His blood runs through the veins of earth and on a river’s crest I think I hear His silent voice beside me when I weep I felt His warmth beside my bed before I went to sleep His song blows through the summer leaves in drizzling drops of rain through amber field of feathered sheaves and on the dusty plain In living things, in nature’s breath God’s presence can be seen In starlit skies, in ocean’s depth on water’s silver sheen In quiet woods of summer green In rose of crimson red Beside the lake, beside the stream and here beside my bed Elizabeth Santos |

Dear Heart that was a absolutely beautiful Poem. I especially like the stanza about when you weep. Whenever I cry I feel the lords presence too. I have been reading you poetry and I really am a silent fan. Keep up the good work, the lord is richly blessing you now! As that is my prayer. Huggggs Kimberly |

Elizabeth, Very Beautiful!!! I think that you do poems that interconnect God with nature especially well and this one is of no exception. I loved the idea that you expressed here, though God is the Creator of nature and is found in nature in Wonderful Wonderful ways, He is also a personal Savior who can be found even at our bedside when we weep and when we fall asleep at night. I really really enjoyed the personal touch that you gave God in this poem. Again, Beautiful poetry, and, again, God bless. -Bob |
