Brother J and Keed Brother J, You take my sisters and brothers there Why not me? Because Keed, you have not been behaving well Why? I took care of them carefully And I have screamed again and again Try to bring them to safety. When you come back for the promised trip I want them to come gladly with me. Keed, You did not cook for them when they are hungry You did not listen to them when they are hurt You beat them up and enjoy your neighbor’s applause You have no tears when they are suffering You scream at them to make them fall from trees And you did not comfort them when they broken their knees. But Brother J, I don’t have other blessing My only skill is preaching Keed, Loudly you claimed that I love you Then you know what love is at all Why not love your sibling as I told but you leave them out in burning hot And also in frozen cold. I see not that you love them With gentleness, in meekness. You teach them this and that, indeed, But you show no care and softness You coursed them to death You chased them to lions mouth I see no a humble heart I see no a loving soul And remember, Who is going to come with me It is not up to you to judge Brother J, but I want to go with you. I never knew you Depart from me. (Always a lesson to me) |

Hyaunt, Welcome to Passions I really liked the exchange of words between Keed and Brother J and I also liked what I read as a slight variation of language and culture. Both made the poem so much more engaging and interesting. I thought your poem made some very strong points and taught some very important lessons. Your poem reminded me that not all of those who say "Lord, Lord" will enter into the Kingdom. Sometimes it's hard to remember that we can be or maybe even are Keeds ourselves and can become so busy being the preacher or teacher that we neglect our lives and the true plan that God has for us (i.e. to Love one another). I thought that your poem made it very clear that we do need to be very very aware of how we live our lives. Again, Welcome, God bless you, and I really enjoyed reading your poem. -Bob |
