Self Indulgence Many empty people fill this earth, with minds centered on self worth, Never thinking of The Lord above, as they’re consumed in self-love. They don’t see any need to change, so continue living life the same, Self indulgence is indeed their way, to live their life from day to day. Many men, now living on this earth, indeed overflow with self worth. Some people are so self-absorbed; they have no time for our Lord, The King, who set His Throne aside, and on a cross for all, He died. Christ left the Glory of His Throne, making earth, His temporal home, Considering not, that He was God, He chose to walk on earthly sod, To live this life, like you and me, and all this, on His way to Calvary. He left His Throne to come for us, living on earth in The Father’s trust, Born here to be God’s Sacrifice; paying for all men the ultimate price. And all men must do is to believe, and Eternal Life they shall receive. The foolish man will have no part, for they are led by a prideful heart, Not believing Christ who rose again, is coming back to judge all men. Many people now living down here, have in their heart no Godly fear, Empty foolishness, is what’s inside, as they fill their heart with pride. With this earth as His footstool, Christ will judge each indulgent fool, And pride will never have a place, in God’s plans, provided by Grace, But when Christ reigns, all men will see, He is The God of all Eternity. Bob, As I read your poem and I thought about Christ being our ultimate example, I was reminded about His washing of the disciples’ feet and how He encouraged us to do likewise and to be as He was — not self indulgent, but a Servant. Again, enjoyed reading your poem and God bless, -Bob |

Your poem is wonderful and painful at the same time, because I've lived a life a life of self indulgence, forgetting about what I was taught earlier in life... thank you for this... /Helen "Ah! my Be-loved, fill the cup that clears |
