God’s Standard

Lift up high the Standard of God, all across this land men trod,
Lifting high the virtues of Him, who came to earth to die for sin.
God’s Standard is higher than all; fixed in Heaven it’ll never fall,
Raised high above all the earth, and only His, has eternal worth.

God’s Standard is Calvary’s Cross, where He redeemed the lost,
Shedding Christ’s blood for you and me, to give us life eternally.
A standard unmatched by men, who stand eternally condemned,
But through The Son Jesus Christ, all men can have Eternal Life.

God’s Standard is filled with power, available any day, any hour,
Through the power of God’s Son, whose work on Calvary’s done,
Finished for all the nations of men, so that we can be Born Again,
His finished work is for all of us, now in Him we just put our trust.

To be under the Standard of God, who rules all with His iron rod,
He, who’s God of all the earth, now offers all men a second birth.
The only one who conquered death; He offers men eternal breath,
So we can live life forevermore, with Jesus Christ, the Risen Lord.

God’s Standard is an Eternal One, throned in Heaven is His Son,
Raised victorious above everything, is Christ Jesus, Eternal King.
Christ, The King is Savior too, and reigns above, for me and you,
If you would only today believe, a place with Him you will receive.

Bob,

Thank you. In consideration of the many many times that your poems and your dedication to writing poetry have inspired me to write and to continue writing poetry, I'm really very humbled by your statement here that I in some way inspired the writing of this Beautiful Beautiful poem. WOW!!! The scripture that comes to my mind here is Proverbs 27:17 which reads "iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend."

Again, thank you, my Christian friend, you have definitely sharpened my countenance with this one.

-Bob
