Before I was born, You called me. You envisioned what I will be. You had a design fashioned for me. You breathe life into me, before I ever came to be. I am clay in Your hand. You, the Potter, molded me to become a reflection of Your image. You dreamed of me from the beginning of time, among the living things of Your creation. I am a fruit in Your orchard, I blossom from a seed into a flower, growing ripe until the harvest comes. You are the Gardener tending me with care sheltering me from the ravages of wind and storm. I am humbled to be Your handiwork, that You should pluck me into Your palm, to discipline me in Your love, to delight in me as Your child, insignificant creature that I am. Lord, I am not worthy to receive You, but You will not leave me be alone. You will hound me until I rest in You, snuggle in the warmth of Your arms, as You whisper, “Child, hold on to Me”. |
