What If It Were Today? What if I heard a knock on the door Would I, Jesus loving knock ignore? If He were to come to my home this day Would He in my home be welcome to stay? Would I feel before I opened the door I’d need to clean house and do more? I’d throw out the t.v., first on the list Making sure it wasn’t in our midst. I’d want to dust and scrub the floor Put things in place and then do more. I’d do all the wash till it shone clean Squeaky clean must everything seem. What do I see but a note, slipped under the door “How long must I wait for you to do more? “Don’t you know that this cleaning you want to do “Is really My job, if you want to be new?” “Don’t wait till your clean before inviting me in “Your dirty from worldliness and from sin, “Ask me to enter your humble abode “Give me your cleaning, I’ll carry the load.” “Your clothing I’ll give you shinning white “The hallways of your heart never so bright, “This day I am knocking upon your heart “Won’t you open the door to a brand new start?” Jesus is knocking on your heart today Won’t you open to Him and not turn Him away?
