Oh My Love (Part 1) I see thee from afar my love Far beyond the sea, I listen to your words thereof But you dear don’t know me. I long that thou be oh so close So I could gaze on thee, That thou may see my face, it glows When I think of you with me. Oh my love may soon the day Come to my life with joy, As the miles drift softly away And hope I strongly employ. Thou livest only down the street Each day I watch thee leave, But thou might well be across the sea And daily do I grieve. And as I take my evening walk Thou pass me on the way, In my heart I feel the knock But my feelings I betray. I want to scream out to the world The love I hold for you, Lay my love wide open unfurled So everybody knew. No recognition is shown on thee As you sweep by so close, I wish more truthful I could be It wasn’t what I chose. For fear that you wouldn’t understand What I was feeling inside, Nothing goes as I have planned Again that night I cried.
