THE CHIEF You are a warrior Of such greatness, You have flown with the eagle, Pastured with the buffalo And hunted with the wolves. Yet with a placidness, You have honored graciously Your woman and your children. You have led your people, Into a valley Of flowing rivers and gentle winds, Taught them to commune With The Greatest Spirit Of them all, And this, this alone Is what made you A great Chief. How different, the dark that scares us, From the dark, behind our eyes, That we hide behind to protect us From the dark that scares us. ©das [This message has been edited by SPIRIT (01-22-2003 09:59 AM).] |

beautiful and well written. thank you. your words show great respect. are they directed at a specific individual in your life? if so, then how blessed you are. Wow! we could certainly use this type leadership today. |

I only wish such kind of leader still exist these days, and how we do need them. This is such a strong and vivid description of a great "Chief". |

(smiles) Oh Das, I just love this, sweet friend, He truly is the chief of all our tribes and in our tribes His tabernacle is at camp and His knowledge at base and He is here to reach out and hug the children of the world! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend this made me cry, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Das, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Your poem here reminds me of the Native Americans and their love, respect, and unity with Nature.... In modern western civilization terms, I think of the home and how it is the father's or whomever might be the head of houshold's responsibility to be the Chief, as it were in the home, and to lead his family into a communion relationship with GOD. Good job here. -Bob |

This is tastefully done. I'm a reader - not a writer. |
