When does a heart begin to live? Did it begin when in the womb? When god begins its melody And starts it on its chorus swoon? When does a heart begin to feel? Did it begin with mothers touch? A sweet caress of one so pure His every breath now means so much. When does a heart begin to love? Did it begin with gentle voice? A silent word into his ear By one who cared and made the choice. When does a heart begin to grow? Did it begin with outstretched arms? The ones that always open wide, Embrace and keep us safe from harm. When does a heart begin to grieve? Did it begin with our mistakes? Our weakness in this earthly realm Cause tears of pain and heart to break. When does a heart begin to heal? Did it begin when we repent? We beg and plead, try to forget The ache we caused those heaven sent. When does a heart begin to live? It did begin when in the womb! When god began his melody Till death, then raised him from his tomb. |
