In the shadow of the cross
I knelt down one day
And there to Him my heart I gave
To never from Him stray.

He looked so torn and wretched
In agony He was
He shed His blood for me that day
To make me whole and just.

He suffered many sorrows
That day on the cross
He saved us all from sin and death
Our gain was His loss.

He’s no longer on the cross
He rose from the dead
And He’ll return in glory fair
Just as He has said.

He’s knocking at your heart now
Will you let Him in?
He is the door to Heaven’s shore
With Him you will win.

Jesus is my Rock, music is my sanity.
