The Tree One under welkins Won by standing still Steadfast under stars Stood fore God's will. Heroes met ends On the heath spears Both fiends and friends The fate of years. If only the fouse Fighters in gleam Upheaved their boughs Like the Heaven's beam: Bound in his blessed Unbrittle wood Over tall the tallest Terror withstood.
