Lost and Lonely

A sheep without a shepherd is
A lonely sheep indeed.
He doesn't know which way to go;
No leader his to heed.

A lonely soul without his God
Is like the lonely sheep.
He doesn't know the Lord will care
And faithful vigil keep.

If asked the Lord will guide him.
He will answer to lost call.
No sheep has strayed too far
For Greatest Shepherd of them all.

The lost sheep of The Bible was
Searched for 'til he was found.
The Lord is seeking His lost sheep,
To lead them Heaven bound.

No one needs to wander in
A lost and lonely way.
The Lord is near and He will hear
The cry of His loved stray.

Joyce~
This is as honest and spiritually lifting as anything I will read this year~

I would ask your permission to print it out, with full credit to you, and share it with my church group and also with the group of youth that I mentor~

Why thank you Marge.  It was our pastor's sermon this morning but only ours to borrow. It came straight from the scriptures and you are certainly welcome to use it in any way.  Love, Joyce

We have all been the "lost sheep" at one time or another. This is so comforting and inspirational, Joyce.

wow, an amazing poem.  such a clear message and you made it great!  such a pleasurable read and it was a poem that made my day!  Incredible flow and word usage was amazing.
I absolutely LOVE this poem.
And also,  I sometimes feel that i'm not good enough and that since i've done all these wrong things God won't want me back.  this was a great reminder that he always wants us to come back because he loves us enough to search for us until we're found

thank you sooo much for sharing this wonderful poem.

Joyce,

I really enjoyed the child like simplicity of your poem that really has a comforting message and illustrates the love and protection of our most wonderful wonderful Shepherd.

Thank you again and God bless.

Joyce this poem was inspired by God I can tell.
So many times I have felt lost and the lord lifted me and brought me back.  Thank you for writing such a wonderful poem.

Thank you Bob and Jody. It was inspired by God perhaps and a whole lot by our minister who's message had touched me.  Love, Joyce
