§ UNDER THE SUN Get down to earth. Feel the exquisite suffering. Believe in a better place. Chase your dreams. Get in deeper then swim back to the shallow end. Only the inexperienced wear armbands. It’s the risk you take for pushing yourself. Allow yourself to cave in. and take yourself to places you’ve never been. Change the track. Change the feel. Change the overcastting shadow of your own perception. Draw your influences your own way. No picture can ever hold more beauty or meaning. Just try to understand your puzzles. The closer you get to answers the more questions you uncover. In contraction lays understanding. In pain lies forgiving. In love lies lies. In comfort lies suffering.. So you drink yourself stupid. Forget another 12 hours. Why. Cause you can. Cause others do. Cause there’s nothing else to do. Destructive nature. If you kill enough brain cells maybe you won’t have to grow anymore. Just stay a vegetable and never harvest your own ambitions. Don’t be scared. Relax. If you want to fear anything then surprise yourself. Sit next to that girl on the bus even though there are others seats. I tune in to a section of thought I lost many years ago. A segment of confusion amplified through the windows. I stare in from the outside for a while. Just awaiting a sign of ease. Its not easy but I live in a warmer world now. A room lit by hope, promise and love. A connection with friends, a little frayed but intact. I’ve missed this side. We smile we laugh we dance we collide. I’m only just beginning the journey into my day. Are We grateful to be alive and breathing? Are we grateful to be under the sun? |
