395 On the Road to Emmaus 22 January 2000 As they trekked along encased in a sad song A stranger they thought appeared whom was one they loved and deared On this road to Emmaus past a Scripture tale told to last FromJerusalem they left unaware of who was the guest Two of them went that day in sadness they did pray Joined by a third they failed to recognise His word For their eyes were holden as footsteps forward rolled in That they should not know him a love stronger than kin “And, behold, two of them [Apostles] went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs [12 kilometres]. And they talked together of all these things which had happened [the crucifixion of Christ]. And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden [undecided ] that they should not know him. And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?” Luke 24: 13-17 KJV [words in brackets added] a poet who cares |

"Holden" is a General Motors make of car, manufactured in Australia. "their eyes were holden " - I have a thing for 'holden' scriptures, only the King James Bible can provide I am 'poet to the cars' , there for 'holden' is a word that makes that possible. The above works is a car-psalm , when I compose ballads about my motor racing as well my poettothecars logo on my web site http://www.poettothecars.com is a Holden a poet who cares |
