I see his eyes dance in the flame With every drag I take Death draws nearer With every promise I break I have asked him to join me With every pack I buy Doesn’t matter the brand It’s the reason I will die Butane ignited the nicotine The tar settles in The poison seeps deeper As I deny my sin While the fiddle plays He has asked me to dance I accept with a smile Not having a chance God loves me This I know Yet I allow Satan To have his hold God offers me freedom The devil, his vice To be bound by death Is it worth the price? If you were offered freedom, Would you not accept? If you were offered death, Would you not refuse? The choice is yours As it always has been Choose wisely child Your soul is on the line Written by Melody Lyn Wilson, aka Lyn Eagleton1/2000 |

Smoking was something God asked me to give up long before I was willing to. I have since moved passed this addiction so now he can work on other things. Thanks for reading. |

A well written poem on a difficult subject to aproach. Nicotine is so additive that it is a real stuggle for many people to quit even when they want too, but quiting is worth the effort. |

I'm in the process of overcomming for those of you who pray I welcome them. This poem is excellent. The guilt alone is enough to make me try to quit.
