An Act of God Katrina's wake, for sure Leaves much for all to endure Knitting those who've drifted apart And multitudes helping heart to heart One question constantly comes to mind As we search for solace of some kind Does it move love seekers who search From frequented bars to a church? Or does anger flow at an 'act of God' As through the stench and debri we plod? Could it possibly be His wake-up call To bring us to Him for He loves us all Today I pray for security Through Christ, our Lord, eternally |

Amen Sandgrain, God sure does speak through the tragedy, but just how many, as you mention in you poem, are listening? It seems that still so many people are calling God, mother nature, totally oblivious that Christ is knocking on their door. In His Love, Bob He's coming very soon, the signs are very clear, |

My goodness, Rae, you wrote of quite a wakeup call. Praying that those that need it...get the same message from Him that you wrote about. God bless, m'friend!!! ~ ...Becka |

Thanks for reading and responding. When writing this, I certainly didn't intend to hint any city needs or deserves this, so I pray no one takes offence. Each disaster tends to bring people together and to their knees. Some develop faith, some renew it, yet others lose it. That was my line of thinking. My prayer is that faith in our Lord develops from this catastrophe. |

Rae~ So thoughtfully put~ And I believe that some simply know that by His Grace they have been saved from the death they see all around them~ I've sure heard some rousing testimonies among those seen on television~ I pray them all onward to better things~ For ... with HIM ... all things are possible~ *Huglets* shared~ ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Much of the footage I've seen suggests that, more than ever, people are learning just how much they need God, and how transitory is life on earth---that we cannot take for granted everything that we believe we have, or allow ourselves to grow comfortable with things as they are, for all is vanity and chasing after wind. Something like this can help to bring the faithful together, because it reminds people of what is really important. It is a tragedy, of course, but in it we can still see God's love operating. This is a thoughtful and introspective poem which you have framed based on the most current of events and human concerns. The Greratest show of God's Love was connected with violence even the death of the Only Beggoten Son,(John 3:16-17, which served to bring men back to Him (Acts 2:36-40). Whether through Loves appreciation /or/ Life's dire hardshipships which show our desperate need for Him--God is seeking us, God loves us, God want to bless us with Blessings indeed which speak to present need as well as eternal glory. Thank you friend for sharing this with us, and for the true friendship you have shown toward me as a fellow sufferer. David Every Day's a Blessing And Gift-Wrapped from Above, Share it with another And Spread the Father's Love!!! May You come to Know His Best Blessing |
