We think we know the mind of God And that we know so much, And we become wise in our eyes And sometimes we lose touch. We think we have it figured out I know I thought I did, What seem so sure in my mind's eye Kept realities Truth well hid. I never thought I'd see the day A widower I would be, Women usually outlive men I thought that my destiny. Though sickly oft' was my dear Wife I said it time and again, Even the sickly do survive The healthy with a "second wind." It seemed that after a years struggle My Wife would soon see the Light To overcome her infirmities And everything be all right. Little did I know the Truth From it's knowledge I was spared From sicknes into wholeness she'd pass Because a Merciful God for her cared. "It wasn't s'posed to be this way!" Oh yes it was, I was wrong, Lord please forgive my selfish heart Help me praise You, All Knowing One! I stand humbled in Your sight And thankful for Your gifts Divine, To be so patient with a fool like me-- I would to Your Will be resigned. Help me to say, "Thy will be done" No matter what may be the cost, "Let God be true"--and man the liar Lord, reign Supreme- You're the Boss! Every Day's a Blessing |

I think God understands when we rail at him for the loss of a loved one as long as we come around like you seem to be doing already. We just don't know what God has in mind for our loved ones and we do know that Linda is no longer suffering. Our love and our prayers are with you every minute. Love, Joyce |

I have to believe there is a reason for everything that happens, that God has a plan. In sharing your suffering and pain, perhaps you ease someone's burden or help them see that death is not an exit but an entrance to a place far better than this mortal earth. |

Thank God for your faith, David... it IS what sees us through... and yes, your wife is now in a much better place, and the time that she waits for you to join her will be but a blink in our eyes' time. Celebrate and rejoice her life... and may I ask, but did you put up any kind of memoriam for her, that her name will live on? If so...can you please send me that information? ![]() |

Oh how I relate to this! It's so easy to slip into praying "...thy will be done,.." while expecting 'MY will be done.' I changed my prayer to, "Please, Lord, help me accept Your will without having to understand the why and how, for I know You're ways are perfect." Thank you for sharing this piece, David. You remain in my prayers. God bless you, Rae |

I'm so sorry for your loss but I can understand your expectations. My grandma, the only remaining grandparent I have, has been diagnosed with cancer and she and I have been extremely close for the last 15 years. To lose her will take half my heart. It is normal to feel selfish but I see that you are starting to heal. I pray for full and complete healing for you. I know it will not be easy, but HE will always be with you, walking side by side, or in His arms when you grow tired. Sheri Jesus lives in my heart! He can in yours too!!! |

David,I hope you know this...you are teaching us,...me,at least.Your faith, your prayers, your love, your words are sent out and I feel renewal. As sure as I am living,I stand firm upon the reality that True Love never dies. And you not only stir me by your affirmation of this, but also by your humility to and faith in Jesus. Seasons,cycles...even these show that things "come around".Life comes out of death in Spring, healing comes out of sharing, and deep abiding Love shared with one can, when it is witnessed and shared with others, spill over to our family,friends,...even strangers. The "Stream" affects us all.Your Love for Linda is a living thing...and I thank you,David, for sharing some of that life with me. Peace to you,Geoffrey If a man has not discovered something he is willing to die for,his life is not worth living. |

Dear David: I think anger is the first emotion we feel when we lose someone we deeply love. Then unbelief that God has let this happen to us. After that, we either make our way back to Him or we turn aside. There is no hope in life, without Him! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
