Fear

It isn’t fear itself, but fears we do not shake
That our thought, our faith and life, eventually overtake.
“Cast your cares upon the Lord,” His word invites us,
For He can move mountains if only we’ll trust.

When we find ourselves in a mess
Do we know this is our test?
Not a test of our ability
But if in Jesus, we believe.

Fear can damage more than the storm.
Eroding faith, leaving us forlorn
‘Twas relying on self where trouble began
The separation from God, by man.

We can overcome fear only one way,
By strengthening faith every hour each day.
Perfect faith casts out all fear
And lets Him dry our every tear
