Mary, Mary Mary, Mary did you know The long way he'd have to go? Mary were you privy to All the travails He'd go through? It surely broke your mother heart If you knew right from the start They would kill your firstborn Son When His work on earth was done. Mary did you try to stay All bad things to come His way? Did you beg Him to beware As do mothers everywhere? You see another mother's tears On anniversaries through the years. Does Lent do the same for you, Reminding you of pain gone through? Savior for all and Sinless One, First He was his mother's son. Joyce Johnson 2/21/05 |

Joyce, I think probably it was as you've written here concerning Mary for I do think that you are one to understand and one who can relate to Mary and the loss of her son very very well. I like your conclusion that, yes, Jesus is our Savior and, yes, He is without sin, but He was also flesh and, yes, He was also the son of man... the son of Mary. Thank you for reminding us of this very important point and thank you for, as you've noted in an earlier reply, your Mother's Heart. God bless you. -Bob |

Questions every Christian mother wonders about, presented so artistically, Joyce. Rebecca had responded to an inquiry about fear, as she neared transplant time, saying God wouldn't allow anything worse than Jesus suffered. I think of that often now. Thank you for writing and sharing this piece. Rae |

Dear Rae, It is six years today since I lost my son and your two great losses have been after that. I think of you so often. How wonderful to be so assured by your daughter. How loving she was. Love, joyce |
