Beautiful Feet A cobbler’s store just down the street from mine Has many lovely shoes made by design; Though big or small, he’ll make them all To fit a foot beyond what words define... “They’re Heavenly!” I say, without a doubt, For once they’re worn, you’d also be devout To wear these shoes and spread the news With fitted feet well prone to walk about... “Look at my shoes!” I know that you would say As people come to gaze from day to day With fleeting feet -- No soul’s complete Without the shoes that you have on display... A cobbler’s store just down the street from mine Has many lovely shoes made by design; And fit he’ll do if you’ll be true To always let the Good News from you shine. God Bless, Lighthouse Bob How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news. Isaiah 52:7a |

Thank you all for your kind replies. This was a fun poem to write and also a bit of an experiment with rhyme scheme and meter lines, etc. etc. Trillium, I like your comment. Heavenly shoes to cover our feet of clay! Very creative. Thank you for sharing. SEA, I do know what you mean about kids getting new shoes... Heck, I still get excited even today when I get a new pair. (Smiles) Hey, I guess I'm still a child at heart... except, maybe, for the dancing part. Joyce, Thank you. I do think that only the heart of a Father (or a Mother or Grandparent) could look at feet and truly call them Beautiful. (Smiles) Merry Christmas to all and again Thank You for your kind words. -Bob |
