Darkness By Larry Chadwick It seems to be a strange oxymoron. The source of light and here I sit in the church in the dark. Silenceā¦ Extended silenceā¦ When there is more than one person present someone inevitably interrupts the silence. It is hard to learn from silence when it keeps getting interrupted. But here I sit in the dark in the sanctuary of my church. In silence. You can learn a lot from silence. Especially when it is not interrupted. Only a really close friend would know that. And all of a sudden it occurs to me. If God is my really close friend He would let me learn from silence. And He is. Right now. Amazing the amount of light you can find in the dark. I hope I can learn to be that close of a friend. October 22, 2004 |

Now if you would just quit talking to yourself there, you will hear what your good friend has to say Just kidding, Larry and I too find my greatest inspirations in the silence. |

Larry? I think you have. And I agree, sitting alone in a dark church can be quite amazing and very refreshing... Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows |

Larry: I totally agree! Even when not in church, there is a lot to be learned from silence! In a deep forest or on top of a mountain, it is especially eloquent! Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Lil' Angel, Thank you. By the way, welcome to Passions. I'll watch for your writing. Copperbell, Ain't that the truth. Sometimes painful but still the truth. And thank you. Marge dear, You do get around. Thank you. Explains why some people still have a lot of learning to do. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Smiles... I've had my time of darkness and it certainly is nice to be back, in the greatest extent, in the light. Very nice sentiments expressed here. |
