One of His Flock I found a little bird today, Beside the road, along the bay. I picked it up so carefully. No wound or mark was there to see. I took it home and found a spot, Beneath some flowers in a pot And buried it.Somehow I knew, That somewhere up there in the blue, God saw it fall and now it flies With flocks of sparrows in His skies! This is so sweet. There is a little Bob White in my yard today. Suzy saw it and startled it, but I made her understand not to bother it. They aren't native around here. Joyce |

Dear Marge: Thank you for your sweet comments! Ron is thrilled to know that all your animal and bird friends are doing well. Me too! That's another very sad thing about the storms you are weathering. All the loss of animal life! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |

Dear Betty Lou Your poem reminded me when I was a child I picked this sparrow up out of the gutter when I was coming home from school, that was still alive, so I took it home. Of course my mother was not impressed because it was full of lice. The sparrow did not make it to the next morning and I gave it a burial in the back yard. Thank you for bringing me down 'memory lane'! I always enjoy your poetry! Love Isobel ox |

Dear Isobel: I'm sorry your sparrow didn't live! It's very hard to raise a baby bird I know. I have tried several times. I always feel bad to find a dead one and have to find a spot and bury them. Thanks for commenting on this poem! Love Betty Lou Betty Lou Hebert |
