Downcast mouth so long a wound words bled a voice aside, soliloquy near silence, intent that just the Moon hear what is said. Eyes which may create a moat where tearfalls would spare all further pain of an alliance like the space canals afford Venetian walls which from a distance pose serene control while sinking all the further in mud's bed. Ah, pride on to a fall's the briefest stroll. Erect? Perhaps but as la Tour Eiffel betrayed by lunar light a sparse barred cell revealed transparent, mockery, a shell, thus shamed or shameless (one can never tell), its frozen frame looms stark against a sky and holds its shadow fast as in a spell. Some here may read a Roman holiday or sense a sneer amid vox populi, while some it seems find joy in ones dismay. As Lenin in glass tomb's an apt display and ends all rumor he from death abstains peruse ye here the truth in an x-ray of bare boned upright skeletal refrains the weary words of loss, of howling pain denying hope its flesh and love its veins. "Happy people have no history" - French Proverb |

"a voice aside, soliloquy near silence, intent that just the Moon hear what is said." That is indeed a private space, set aside for moments demanding intense solitude. |

Ow! The whittling of an ego. Transition so hard; must we accept a God not believed in, and the reason? The fatal flaw! Especially, was it in me, left in unspoken fear, but ready, and ~He~ did all the work! I enjoyed this tremendously, though I never truly feel qualified to post a reply to ~YOUR~ poetry, I've decided I'll mention how it speaks to me. "Erect? Perhaps but as la Tour Eiffel" I can so relate to that! Thanking you for causing me to think and feel. Warmly, Pat [This message has been edited by regards2you (10-28-2002 12:57 PM).] |

I guess I feel as Martie Richard, I read, I feel, and I definitely understand. This line is sadly excellent, "Erect? Perhaps but as la Tour Eiffel" but remember the tower is still standing Your free style is awesome Richard. |
