Goin’ Standard

it’s coming
that extra hour
get to stay in bed
a little longer
start church
an hour later

so instead of waking up
‘tween 4 and 5
now I’ll wake up
‘tween 3 and 4
‘cuzn I’m on this side
of 50

ya know
the side that condenses
sleep time into
5 or 6 hours
whether ya need it
or not

but then
what good is
sleepin’ in
if you’re not awake
to know it’s
happenin’

uh, happenin’?

(sigh) Oh Virginia, sometimes I think the same thing, I know sleep as important but I feel in a way it is a waste of time as I wish there was something else sleep can offer to make it seem worth the while! LOL! (kiss on cheek) This is well-said, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing!
